Beating a field of ten including fellow Academy Award contenders "A Cat In Paris," "Chico & Rita," "Kung Fu Panda 2," and "Puss In Boots," the Gore Verbinski-directed, Johnny Depp-starring surreal, quasi-western took home the big prize at the show. Since its inception in 1992, the Annie Awards winner has only missed matching the evenual Oscar winner three times -- so, we bet Verbinski is starting to get that acceptance speech written now. "Rango" also took writing, editing, character design and the award for "favorite" film as well. However, it was Jennifer Yuh Nelson who took the Best Directing prize for "Kung Fu Panda 2." Meanwhile, "The Adventures of Tintin" wasn't completely shut out, nabbing a prize for John Williams' score.
Take a look at the full list of winners below. And if you're making your Oscar picks, "Rango" seems like a sure bet at this point. [via Deadline]
