Scary! Goalie mask features 'Shining' scenes

Few movies are as terrifying as 1980's "The Shining."

Jack Nicholson's murderous face. Shelley Duvall screaming in terror. Danny's Big Wheel making the rounds of the Overlook Hotel hallways. The spooky twin girls. REDRUM.

Richard Bachman's goalie mask features scenes from "The Shining."

Dallas Stars goaltender Richard Bachman has the same name "Shining" author Stephen King used as a pen name, and he decided to play up the connection in a creepy yet cool way, having his goalie mask designed with scenes from the famed film.

Yes, the scary twins are there, plus Nicholson, Duvall and other references, some of which it would take a real "Shining" fan to figure out.? Artist David Gunnarsson even included a snippet of the pattern from the Overlook's carpet.

"This may be one of the most scary (masks) I've ever created," Gunnarsson writes on Facebook. "We wanted the mask to have the same uncomfortable feeling you have when you just wake up after a nightmare."

Gunnarsson has designed other creative goalie masks, including? one for a Swedish player that includes an image of Heath Ledger as The Joker from 2008's "The Dark Knight."
