If you did the pumpkin carving yesterday with us then you are all set for today?s contest. If not then you will have to carve your pumpkins as well. Having a family or even a neighborhood pumpkin carving contest for your children can be tons of fun. The first thing to remember that this is for the kids so it will be important that each child wins some sort of an award because you want to?acknowledge?their work.
Determine who will be the judge(s) and you will do what work ahead of time. You will also need to determine the?categories? such as ?Best Crooked Smile.? ?Make sure their is a?category?so that each child can win in but also have an overall winner. While you want to?acknowledge?each child?s work you don?t want them to think that they get to win all the time at everything.
Once the pumpkins are carved put them on display whether or a table, the front porch, or in the yard. Be sure the judge(s) walk around looking very?official?and writing things down. Then have an award?ceremony?where you announce the winners. The kids will have a blast waiting to see if their pumpkin won and you will have a blast spending time with them.
